The cars are rarely the problem. The timeline is. A car that arrives on time to a schedule that was never realistic is still a late wedding. This is how to plan the vehicles for a wedding or a large event in Bulgaria, written from the operational side: how long things actually take, how many cars you need, and where the plans we see most often go wrong. ## Start from the ceremony, and work backwards Almost every workable wedding timeline is built in reverse. Fix the moment the ceremony starts, then subtract, in this order: the time the last car must arrive, the drive itself with a realistic allowance, the loading, and the getting-ready overrun that happens at every wedding ever held. The single most common mistake is budgeting the drive at the figure a maps app gives for an empty road on a Tuesday. A Saturday afternoon in central Sofia is not that road. Add a genuine margin and put it in the plan rather than hoping for it. The second most common is forgetting that the cars have to get to you before they can take you anywhere. If the ceremony is at 15:00 and the drive is 25 minutes, the car is not booked for 14:35. ## How many cars, and which Seats are the obvious constraint and rarely the binding one. Dresses, suit bags, flowers, a photographer's equipment and somebody's overnight case take up more room than the people do. - **EQV** — 5 passengers, 5 large bags. The workhorse for a wedding: the bridal party, the family group, the run that has to carry things as well as people. - **EQS** — 3 passengers, 2 large bags. The formal car, and the one to book for the couple if the arrival is being photographed. - **EQE** — 3 passengers, 2 large bags. The sensible choice for the additional runs: parents, officiant, guests coming from a hotel. For a wedding party of eight moving together, two EQVs is a cleaner arrangement than three smaller cars — fewer moving parts, fewer places for one car to be the late one. ## Book the hours, not the journeys This is the single most useful piece of advice on the page. A wedding is not a transfer; it is a car committed to you for a block of time, with waiting in the middle. Book it by the hour. Hourly hire runs at EUR 55 an hour for the EQE, EUR 65 for the EQV and EUR 105 for the EQS, with a one-hour minimum. Priced as separate point-to-point transfers, the same day costs more and leaves you with a car that has driven away between the ceremony and the reception, which is exactly when somebody always needs it. A typical Sofia wedding block is four to six hours per car. A wedding at a venue outside the city is usually longer and simpler: one car, one long block, no repositioning. ## Weddings outside Sofia Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, the Rila valley and the coast all host weddings that begin with guests in Sofia. Treat the transfer out as its own journey with its own margin rather than as part of the wedding-day block. - **Sofia to Plovdiv** — 151 km, about 1 h 45. From EUR 238. - **Sofia to Veliko Tarnovo** — 220 km, about 2 h 45. From EUR 308. - **Sofia to Rila Monastery** — 118 km, about 1 h 40. From EUR 204. - **Sofia to Burgas** — 385 km, about 3 h 40. From EUR 430. For a wedding at that distance, move the party the day before. A three-hour drive on the morning of a wedding turns every ordinary delay into a crisis, and the saving is not worth it. ## Guests, and the shuttle question Guest transport is where budgets quietly triple. Two rules keep it sane. First, do not try to move everybody. Move the people who genuinely cannot move themselves — elderly relatives, guests without a car at a rural venue, the group at the hotel furthest out — and let the rest arrange themselves. A published pickup time from one hotel is worth more to most guests than an individual car. Second, if the venue is remote and the reception has a bar, the journey home is the one that matters. Guests will arrange their own way there and discover at midnight that there is no way back. Book that leg first. ## What we need from you A wedding booking is worth more detail than a transfer. Useful things to put in the notes: - The address of every pickup and the venue, in full. - A contact who is not the couple. On the day, nobody should be phoning the bride about a car. - What is travelling as well as who — dresses, instruments, flowers, a cake. - Child seats and the child's age, if any. - The one time that genuinely cannot move. Tell us that last one explicitly. Every wedding has one fixed point, and knowing which it is changes how the whole day is planned around it. ## Other events The same structure covers most of what people mean by event transport: conference guests moving between a hotel and a venue, a corporate dinner, an anniversary, a christening, a milestone birthday. The pattern is always a block of hours with waiting in it rather than a set of separate journeys, and the arithmetic works out the same way. Saturdays between May and September are the busiest dates in the year, and the cars go early. The technical minimum is three hours; that number is irrelevant to a wedding. ### Can we see the exact car beforehand? You book a class — EQE, EQS or EQV — and the class is what is guaranteed. If seeing the specific car matters to you, say so when you book and we will arrange it rather than leave it to chance on the day. ### Can the car be decorated? Ask in the notes. Anything that attaches without damaging paintwork or blocking the driver's view is usually fine, and it is better agreed in advance than produced on the morning. ### What happens if the day overruns? With an hourly booking, additional time is added at the same hourly rate. There is no penalty for a wedding running long, which is the main reason to book it this way. ### Can you collect guests from the airport? Yes, and it is a common part of a wedding booking. Airport pickups include 60 minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time, so an incoming flight that is late does not become somebody's problem. ## Booking For a single journey, book it online and the price is fixed immediately.
